Vote for Bridie

This campaign isn’t about politics — it’s about people.
I’m running for Commissioner #4 because I believe our island deserves a voice that
reflects everyday families, friends, and neighbors.

Hi, I’m Bridie — otherwise known as mom, friend, connector, and integrator.

I’m running for Commissioner #4 of the new Lopez Parks & Recreation District because I care deeply about preserving what makes Lopez special: the opportunities for kids, families, and neighbors to grow, play, and thrive together.

Serving on the Parks & Rec formation committee, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside people who bring incredible expertise and vision.

Beyond being a devoted soccer mom, who tirelessly shows up for EVERY.SINGLE.EVENT, whether it’s sports, bake sales or talent shows, I bring to the table a clear voice for everyday Lopez families and neighbors.

The question I ask myself with every step I take is: How will this affect the people I love?

That perspective has shaped my approach from the very beginning.

And if you elect me, it will continue to do so.

At its Core

At its core, the plan for this District is straightforward: to run school sports, after-school programming, and summer workshops; to cover the essential costs of employment, insurance, and program fees—the things that keep opportunities safe and functioning. Think of it like the “software” that makes the system work. Once those essentials are protected and sustained, then we can ask, how else can we help? What new programs, partnerships, or community opportunities can grow from that strong foundation?

To represent Lopez families, friends, and neighbors with honesty and care.

To make decisions through the lens of community well-being — not politics.
To listen, answer questions, and stay open to ideas and concerns.

Proven Track Record

I Show Up When Lopez Needs Me.

When there’s a gap in our community, I step in to help.

That’s been true whether I’m coaching baseball, running the school concessions stand, serving on my church board, or volunteering 500+ hours on the Parks & Rec Formation Committee.

I’ve built businesses here on Lopez, too — Lopez Coffee Shop in the village, and now Lopez Strength & Conditioning with my husband Robert. Both gave me a front-row seat to what it means to create spaces where people feel welcome, supported, and connected.

The common thread? I’ve always believed in putting in the time, energy, and heart to make sure kids, families, and neighbors have what they need.

My Vision

Protecting Essentials. Building for the Future.

Right now, my focus is clear: stabilize and support what Lopez families can’t afford to lose. That means fully funding school sports and securing the After School Program so working families can count on it.

But my vision doesn’t stop there. A Parks & Rec District gives us the chance to build for the future — opportunities for youth camps, senior wellness, cultural events, community activities, and recreation that bring people of all ages together.

Think of it this way: Lopez already has a beautiful bouquet of programs. Parks & Rec is the vase that holds it all together — giving stability, safety, and sustainability.

This is OUR campaign. Together.

I don’t see this as my campaign. I see it as our effort to create something sustainable for Lopez.

Here’s how you can be part of it:

  • Ask me questions. Email or stop me at the grocery store — I want to hear your ideas and concerns.

  • Spread the word. Talk to your neighbors about why Lopez Rec matters.

  • Most of all: Vote. The Parks & Rec measure and commissioner elections are community decisions. Your voice matters.

Together, We Can Build a Lopez That Lasts.

I’m not running because I love campaigning. I’m running because I love Lopez.

This is about protecting what we cherish and building the kind of foundation that will last for generations.

On Election Day, I’d be honored to earn your support for Lopez Rec and for Commissioner #4.
